In 2021 it was an honour to design Macmillan’s show garden at the Harrogate flower show. This small scheme had a very big message to communicate. The garden was created to promote the importance of leaving gifts in wills to Macmillan, from which a third of their income is generated.
The 6m x 6m plot centred around circular, curving walls that enclosed a seating area and a circular planting bed. Circular windows within the walls looked out onto a surrounding border of mixed planting. Smaller wall structures sat in these borders, rising up above the planting.
The garden was awarded a Silver Gilt medal at the show.
